Exclamation Calendar deletes my past appointments - please help!

Hi,

I've had my Axim X51v for a few months now, and use it to schedule business meetings and appointments, among other things.

I've noticed, however, that after a while, it has deleted my previous appointments - I think after a month or so, and this is a problem when I need to look back at when I last had a specific meeting about something, and want to have another one etc.

I've tried looking on the microsoft.com website, as well as going through WM5's own help files on the Axim, but I can't find a way of changing this. Can anyone help? If this isn't a suitable question for this forum, can someone tell me where I can go for answers?

Thanks in advance.

This sounds to me more like an Outlook / Active Sync issue. I doubt these meetings get deleted on PPC side as there's nothing to do that (unless you're running some special app like SK Tools).

I'd check Archiving settings in desktop Outlook, to make sure you're not inadvertently archiving old items on your PC. Also see if the missing items can be found in Outlook Deleted Items folder, this should give you a hint there's something going on on Desktop. They are very easy to restore - just copy them back into your calendar.

Finally, I'd recommend you to invest in a backup solution, the one that came with Axim isn't worth sh#t.

One possible explanation for this behaviour is:

Check you ActiveSync settings for synchronising your calendar. This is by default set to synchronise your appointments starting from 2 or 4 weeks ago. Any appointments before that date will be removed from your PDA but should still be on Outlook. If you change the setting to synchronise All Dates then the meetings you pop back into you PDA.

I think Brackers may have found your solution. On your axim, go to
activesync -> menu -> options -> highlight calendar and go to menu -> there you will get to choose the length of time you want your appointments to be sync with your axim

Icon14 Re: my calendar - Thanks guys!

Thanks! :approve:

I changed my ActiveSync settings to "All Appointments", as suggested, and that did the trick!

You've restored my faith in the paperless diary!

That fixed my problem too, and I hadn't even known I had it! Once again, it pays off to read the posts on Aximsite.

Happy to pass on the knowledge. Again, it's just something I've learned from the "Aximsite Academy for PPC" :)
