Well you really dont need any form of antivirius yet. there have not been any know release of anything that would do you harm like there is on teh standard pc. just backup at least once a week and you should be fine.

I used to use AirScanner AntiVirus program for several years but found out really don't need it at this time.

PDA's haven't, yet, been hit with virus or trojan, programs.

I wouldn't waste storage or memory for any anti virus programming.

Desktop or laptop, you better have an anti virus program running,
all the time!

Aximsitex50icon Rookie here from PR

I know your concern, I have it too. My question is; if there is no known virus "yet" for handhelds then why Symantec has... http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoff...=pf&pvid=savhh

From my understanding, there are no viruses due to the fact that you could always do a hard reset on any PDA. Which then leaves you with a 'clean slate'. Run a restore from your backup program and voila, everything's back to normal.

Of course, I could be wrong. At any rate, I am more interested in security than antivirus on a PDA.

My take on PDA AV is that it's more being marketed toward corporate IT departments to protect desktop systems that are used for synching with PDAs. You could theoretically pick up a PC virus on your PDA (where it would be benign) but then inadvertently pass it to your PC when you synch.
