My wireless quit working

I'm not too savvy when it comes to PDA technical stuff, so forgive any ignorance. My wireless recently quit working. When I enable, the icon pops up at the top, but only the "tower" without the "radio waves" spreading out. When I look at the Dell WLAN Utility at the Site tab, the status show it's scanning, but it never connects. The screen shows that it has located the wireless networks, but it just never connects.

Can anyone give me any ideas about what is going on or how I can fix it?

first try a seft reset on your pda (stylus inserted in the hole on the back) if that doesn't fix it, try resetting your wireless router. Sometimes they get stuck and some things will work and others won't. If that doesn't work post again and you will get more suggestions.

I tried resetting my Axim several times, to no avail. The wireless won't connect anywhere, not just at home. Even trusted wifi coffee houses, etc.

Also, check that "My Network card connects to Work" is enabled in Settings -> Network Cards, and that all programs that automatically connect to internet use Work not My ISP.

The only other option is Hard Reset.

I wouldn't say a hard reset is the 'only' other option.

Sometimes when the failure occurs, it's because an entry has been added to the Proxy field (Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Set up my Proxy server. On the Proxy server tab, check the top box (This network connects to the Internet) but make sure everything else on this page blank).

An interfering signal can also cause a problem with association. In my own case, something similar occurred when a neighbor set up a network on the same channel I was using. Even though his signal was much weaker, my PPC could no longer connect to my own. The solution in this case is to change the channel in the router (but keep using 1, 6 or 11 since all other channels overlap one or more of these).
