Question Good Backup for X51v?

I was using SPB backup, but it doesn't work on the X51v... does anyone know of another good (free) backup option? I really am starting to feel uncomfortable with my contacts list not being backed up in nearly 3 months... not to mention all my notes files where I jot down important names/numbers/passwords/etc

both SpB and sprite have versions that work with the x51 as far as I know. Are you trying to use an older version?

Read the Backup Bible at http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=138412 ; it explains everything you need to know.

The SPB Backup works on my 51v but not the timer (I set it for 3am but it doesn't start until I turn my PPC on). But still, it's working.

read the above article; based on Haesslich's tip, I've explained there how this needs to be fixed.

Actually, maybe SPB doesn't work so good afterall The timer (set for 3am) goes off every hour. =/

Thanks for the tip Menneisyys. I set it up and will try it tonight. By the way, do you know where I cam store themes on my SD card to be recognized by the system (with WM5)?

I've been using Sprite and SK Tools. Sprite is easier to use and the scheduler works fine. SK Tools backup interface is a little clunky but works fine.

I was perfectly happy with SKTools and SKScheMa for my back ups on the X30 but I have recently had trouble restoring a backup to the x51V so I switched to Sprite. It works. I like the flexability of the SKTools and SKScheMa combo however I hope future updates will increase stability tith WM5.

Scheduled daily Spb Backups work on my x51v as long I do 3 things:
1. Installed it on a storage card;
2. Exit WA/WAD before I turn the Axim off at night.
3. Run the scheduler the next morning to reset the timer to the correct date and time. The scheduler seems to be broken because it schedules the next backup for approximately 1 minute after the last one finished. To correct it, I have to run the scheduler and step thru the screens without changing anything.

I'm going to try the "new appointment trick" and see if that corrects the scheduling problem for the next day's backup.

For full backup, why not use the backup program that came with WM5, it works correctly with the A12 update!

Doesn't the backup program that came with the X51v only save to CF/SD? Thinks I'd still prefer a backup to my PC.

I tired the "trick" and it made no difference in the next day's scheduled backup start. Spb Backup continues to schedule the next backup for approx. 1 minute after the last backup ended. What's really strange is it only makes one backup per day. You'd think it would get stuck in a loop and continue making backups all day long.

Very few of them do this (Sprite and Sunny). Alehtough, with MightySync/ MobSync, you can automatize the synchronziation of the most current backup file (see my Bible for more info on this)

SPB is starting to drive me nuts! It ran perfectly on my 2003se device but has been aweful with my WM5 device. It doesn't run the scheduled backup (despite adding a reminder at that time) but runs at random times through the day. When it pops up and I hit "dismiss" it still runs! What's up with this?!
