ARGH! Outlook won't sync email accounts, just folders!

OK I'll try this again. it's getting frustrating and surely someone else has been through this.

Desktop runs Outook look 2003. I do a sync and all the Outlook folders come over. No email accounts come over to the Axim, just all the folders. (X51v). I cannot forward, answer or do anything with the emails!! All it says in the "from" area" is (Outlook email) and won't do anything! Send and recieve is greyed out because there is no association to an email account. Why doesn't ActiveSync bring it all over??

I did create a new pop3 account with one of my email addy's that's in my desktop Outlook however it is NOT associated with the Outlook inbox and folders that come over on a sync!

Help!!

I can't even get it to sync with outlook so you are ahead of me. I am trying to get it to share the calendar between desktop and handheld. Made it the default email program, updated the axim operating software and now it knocks off my email connection when I sync. How frustrating.

Same problem, what is the deal?

I am trying to find the answer to this on aximsite.com and aximusers.com ! It seems people are having this issue but no one can word it quite right and then they spend all this time trying to solve the wrong problem.

It appears that when syncing to your PC the PDA will have a "Outlook E-Mail" account that you can not change the settins for. From this account, the "send/recieve" buttons are grayed out and so you can only "read" stuff. You have to create/setup a separte POP account under "New Account" to actually send and rec. email. This stinks....

I can't seem to find anything in ActiveSync to change this (active sync 4.0).

I hope someone can help us..... This PDA thing is great but a little tedious to figure this stuff out....

As far as syncing the actual accounts.....GOOD LUCK. I had to manually input all the pop3/smtp info for all 6 of my email accounts. Can't help you on this one. But as for the contact syncing.....try these:

Ok this works for me so please try it and see if it works for you.

1. First thing I did was to backup all my contacts on my Axim X51v. This is assuming that all your contacts are in Outlook as well. (I have Outlook 2003 not Outlook Express)

2. Delete all the contacts from your axim while off the cradle.

3. Put axim back in cradle and let ActiveSync do its job. That should now allow it to sync normally and forever. (again this worked for me)

If that didn't work then try below, this is what I had to do before the above worked for me:

1. Put Axim in cradle.

2. Open Activesync and click on Tools/Options.

3. Uncheck "Contacts" Then click OK

4. Sync again. (you will notice that the Contacts icon is gone).

5. After done syncing go back to Tools/Options.

6. Now check "Contacts" then click OK.

7. Let sync and now you should be all synced up.

Again, these 2 steps helped me to sync Outlook with my Axim.

Good Luck and hope something works if not this.
