Axim X50v won't sync calendar, contacts, tasks or notes.

I have an Axim X50v running WM 2003 SE. I am trying to sync using AS 4.2 with Outlook 2002. I am using Norton Internet Security 2006.

I have used this Axim on two different pc's (at two separate times) at work since 2005 and have never had any issues. I no longer use it for work and decided to use it with my pc @ home.

I initially downloaded AS 4.2 and installed. After installing, when I went to sync, I received the following error message:

"Synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the network and access information. Restart your desktop computer and synchronize again. If the problem persists, contact your network administrator."

After searching MS knowledge base, I found and article that stated that Outlook’s ".pst" file was corrupted. It gave detailed instruction on how to correct, which I followed, but it did not resolve the problem.

I thought that maybe WM 2003 SE wasn't compatible with AS 4.2 so I found, downloaded and installed AS 3.8, still the same error message.

I've read threads blaming other issues on the firewall. I completely disabled the firewall still the same error message. I thought there might be trouble with the cradle so I connected via Bluetooth. When I attempted to sync using Bluetooth, I still received the exact same error message.

I don't know what else to try. I've tried MS's solutions many times thinking I just didn't do something exactly right. However, I followed their steps exactly.

Any suggestions are appreciated........

Here is a thought - do you think its your firewall/content manager? You could try unplugging your Internet and turning off your your firewall and anitvirus.

This may not work, but it will rule out a couple of things.

BTW - I am assuming that your version of Norton has the 'content control' sometimes called 'parental controls'. Make sure your logged into Norton as an administrator (a profile that will allow you to do anything).

Tried unplugging internet connection and completely disabled NIS. I deleted the partnership and attempted to re-establish the partnership and resync.

Still no luck and same error message.

As for parental controls on NIS, I did not install them when prompted. So, I guess I’m logged on as administrator as I can't find anything to the contrary.
