It depends on the pinout of the slot and how well it plays with the Xscale and WM05/PPC03. In theory, yes, you coudl crack it open, pull out the current slot/chip, and pop in the new SDHC one. In practice this may not be a viable option, though. I'd watch PPC Techs to see if they offer such an upgrade in the future (or possibly even suggest it to them, when SDHC cards/slots become affordable)

I've just bought a x50v for £135, now I need storage. I'm looking at a 4GB SD card and 4GB CF card for £78 combined. But I'd like even more storage space, so I was considering a CF Microdrive instead of a normal CF card as they seem to be cheaper for the size. What does everyone think?

I personally suggest going solid-state - power usage is somewhat increased with a CF microdrive... but personally, I find the main reason to go solid-state flash is because the flash RAM is just plain faster for reading and writing than a microdrive which has to spin up and then spin down. Plus, shock resistance is better with the solid-state.

i have never been that much of a fan of micro drives, flash doesnt seem that much more expensive nowadays. also, you can get 16gb cf cards now, although they cost around £300 last time i checked
