Test For Ir Beam

I amtrying to get a wireless keyboard to work with my x50v
I cannot get it to work. is there a way to test if the PDA is receiving a signal.
or is the keyboard not sending the signal

You can probably confirm that an IR signal is being sent if you have a digital camera with an LCD screen. Just press a key on the keyboard and see if you get a corresponding bright light through the digital viewfinder; this will work with most IR signals.

If the signal is being generated, then it's a little harder to see if it is being properly "received". Sometimes you have to manually instruct the Axim NOT to auto-receive IR files (this is in the settings somewhere) before other IR software / drivers will work. Can you confirm that this setting is disabled?

I think Vito Oscilloscope works with the IR interface on the PDA. You can check this with the trial copy.

thank you for your test seggestion for the IR beam. I was able to test for IR beam for a remote control. Then I tested the keyboard and was unable to get a signal. This proves that the keyboard was not working.
