X50v needs rolled back from WM5 to previous versioin - How?

Hello... I've searched around the forum. But, I haven't been too successful. My Axim x50v was originally loaded with Wndows Mobile 2003 Second Edition. Shortly after I received it, I got a WM5 upgrade sent from Dell. I waited for a long time to apply the upgrade. Finally, I was bored one day and thought I'd give it a try. After applying the upgrade, my Axim experienced several problems. Tech support has advised me that I need to remove WM5 and go back to WM2003. Can someone give me the steps for properly removing WM5 and reinstalling WM2003? I have all the disks. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

That sounds like me. I did the same thing but turned it back within a few days. I kind of planned on a roll back so I researched a little before upgrading. WM5 might be here to stay but not on my PDA.

There were a few hiccups :rolling: during the ROM image flash like freezing my PC. The third try worked and my X50V is as flawless as it was before. :approve:

Thanks... I'll give that a try. I see the new announcement on the Aximsite homepage that there are new fixes for WM5 on the x50v. Should I try that first? Or, do you think I should roll it back? I never had a single glitch with WM 2003. I'd almost rather just roll it back. But, if the fixes work... Who knows. I guess I'll try the WM5 fix. Then, I at least have the instructions for getting the old back. Thanks again.

I'd give the WM5 fix a try first since WM5 must be installed for it to work. If you still don't like it or have problems you can always roll back then. I'd hate to risk doing that WM5 update any more than I had to as something can always go wrong.
