Aximsitewifiicon X51 and LEAP With Cisco APs

Hi all,

I have searched the forums and found a few threads with regards to the X50s having issues properly using LEAP authentication. I have to say that for me (my company more specifically) we have found an issue with the A12 ROM and the Funk Odyssey client that is included on the Dells. Funk Odyssey has now been bought by Juniper Networks and you can of course purchase the newer version of the Client, but that is a road I am trying to avoid, as I am done with both really, but need to find some solution to enable the X51 to work properly in this type of environment.

Has anyone had any experience with either Third party clients other than the Odyssey or a CF card that comes with a client that will work properly?

Thanks for your time and feedback and happy New Year!

The company I work for has been using Cisco's implimentation of TKIP (CKIP?) which is slightly proprietary to Cisco and none of the Odyssey version work with it. We ned to use a Cisco card or tweaked drivers for the Centrino chipset in order to connect. We can see the Aps, we just can't connect - this is a known issue with the Cisco version of TKIP as has been mentioned in a previous thread somewhere around here...

Thanks bigbop, this pretty much describes my issue to a T.

If you dont mind, could you share the particular drivers your using and the card? I'll do some research and attempt to find them, but knowledge is power, and if I don't have to re-invent the wheel, so much so the better.

Happy New Years all and thansk for the continued feedback.
