I succeeded to make it work without rebooting. You must first turn the Bluetooth on. Then turn the WLAN On and wait until the connection is made. Then you can turn the Bluetooth off.
I installed the WirelessPower utility to help me cycle through these settings using the hardware button.
Please note that it doesn't work by starting Bt and WLAN on simultaneously! The order is important: first Bt, wait until the icon changes colour, then WLAN and wait until icon changes to green, then turn off Bt if you don't need it.
Another note: I'm using the included Microsoft Bt stack because Widcomm is eating some memory :(
Now I can connect with a classic Atheros 108G AP using WPA-PSK (without Odyssey)!
I think these steps might help you to be sure WLAN is working!
