Have you tried disabling powersave in the WLAN utility? Also, try removing any interfering devices (e.g., cordless phones, microwaves, etc.). You might also want to try changing the channel on your routee.

I also encounter this problem sometimes. How do you change the channel? I also have 2 other computers running wireless internet too. Do I need to do something to them after changing the channel?

You just have to change the channel on your router.

Gigi is right . You just change the channel and the computers will detect it automaticly.

Go to the setting of your WiFi at your X51V, u may have typed the wrong network key (password?). Type again and try again.

How many router do you have? Do you have more than one router with same SSID?

I have exactly the samthing happenning at work. We have a free wifi grid at work (multiple AP with same SSID,no password, totally open). X51v only knows how to connect to the AP with strongest signal. When it fails, it does not know to try another AP. The AP which is above my cube is broken somehow and my x51v does not quite trying to connect. My laptop, however, knows it should find another AP and it does.

So another word, if you have more than two AP, try disabling all except one and see if it connects.

Having exactly the same problem on the x50v with WM5 A02. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Completely unpredictable. Very, very annoying.

Eh, it's my home network, I only have 1 router (2WIRE). About AP, I'm not too sure, how do I check?

On X51v, I found the same problem after installing last Dell update. I resolved uninstalling it. (Does your router support 108Mbps wifi, super-g technology?)

I also can confirm that something is broken in the WLAN connection in X50v - WM5 A02. I previously used WLAN with 3 different APs and it always worked in PPC2003 (sometimes using the Oddysey client, but not mandatory).
Now I cannot use the WLAN part, and even if configured to use WEP instead WPA-PSK. It only works if the device is rebooted with WLAN turned on. If I make a soft reset of the device with the WLAN off and after that I turn the WLAN on it doesn't find my AP.
And yes, WPA-PSK is not working - keeps connecting and disconnecting. The AP is TI-AR7WRD based. With an Atheros based AP it doesn't even connect.
The same issue was also present in the first WM5 implementation for X50v.
I can also confirm that X51v is not connecting to my WPA-PSK APs, with or without Oddysey. I cannot imagine how Dell tested the WLAN on these new releases !!
