Installing Programs in Built-in Storage / Main Memory / Memory Card

Hi,

I read the tutorial on where to install programs. I just have a few questions.

1. Is it equally easy to remove installed programs from all three locations?
2. Since x51v has 256 MB ROM, I'm guessing that's the best place to install programs..?

This is it for now. Thanks :)

Welcome to Aximsite,
1. The X51 do not have BIS yes you can remove as easily from the main or card.
2. Yes but it is still up to you.

The x51v doesn't have Built-In Storage? I thought Built-In Storage was ROM. Then what's the point of a 256 MB ROM? RAM is only 64 MB isn't it?

OK found the solution :)

I should've looked around better..

" With the new OS, WM5, there is no longer a specific "Built-in Storage" or BIS. All programs are now added to what used to be called BIS. It's one of the big benefits of WM5, better memory management. Main memory is reserved for actually running the applications as you use them on the PDA. Have a hunt around for some reviews on the X51v and they may explain it better. "

I use sktool to remove my programs... it remove it more cleanly (registry wise).
Program installed in the main memory tend to run faster.
