Thanks for the tips guys. Sadly, I still haven't resolved it. Turns out I've got some corrupted file in the My Docs structure that is causing the problem.
I have a folder called 'backup' with nothing in it with 0 size that I can't delete. That is what seems to be causing the problem.
I sure do love Microsoft!!

EDIT: After punching various error message into google, I finally found a solution for my problem. As I mentioned, I had a folder called backup that couldn't be deleted. It seems the folder name had become corrupted I had to use the short filename for the folder (found by running dir /x from a command prompt) and then I could use a rmdir command to kill the folder. After that, I dropped my copied My Documents contents back in the My Docs folder and synced up.
Geez.. what a pain. And I have no idea what caused it.
