Program exe at RAM??

People say that WM5 needs to copy the program from ROM to RAM and then executes it, therefore program running speed in x50v WM5 is slower than that of in XIP of x50v 2003SE.

I just wonder people also say that it is better to install programs in SD for x50v WM5 will have a better execute speed. Is that means program installed in SD no need to copy to RAM before execution?? Or, still need to copy, just copy from SD is faster than that of from ROM??

SD Cards use the same type of ROM thats used in the x51 series which is called NAND rom , NAND ROM is faster to write but slower to read.

In most operating system the programs get loaded to RAM, so the last suggestion is probably true. It might also be a fragmentation issue.

Copy from SD is almost certainly slower, as the SD interface can only transfer four bits at a time. Even with a fast SD card it will take close to 8 times as long to read than from the BIS
