Freeing RAM on WM5

I'm new to WM5. It says there is 49.40 MB of available RAM with 29.28 in use even though no programs are running except Pocket Plus. Is this normal? Does anyone know how I can tell what's eating up the RAM and how to free it up (SK Tools doesn't seem to do much)? Thanks!

SK Tools seems to be getting the job done. X50V + WM5, that's just about the amount of free ram you'll ever get. To know which processes use your RAM you can use Where Is My Ram http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities...myramarm.shtml

You're not going to get much more than 30 mb ram free with WM5 on an axim x5x. This article explains all about it: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/...17/494177.aspx

Haha too slow!

Thanks for the info! Great articles. Thanks for the link dvmed. I'm a bit confused with the program. Even though it's set to show only RAM it's shows my SD card as taking up ram as well as "my documents" folder.

The utility shows you how much space your files take up, not what's in RAM. That is why you see everything on it. Whan this utility was created a number of years ago, everything was in RAM and PDAs usually didn't come with SD or CF slots.

It's an old program but it's still useful for load balancing storage areas.
