Finally i got my X51v :approve: .. and i'm very happy !!!
All works fine but, why when i connect it via usb (activesync) the internet connection go down ?
I mean, before to connect it to the cradle, the X51 is happily connected via wifi, after the connection the wifi connection go down and i cannot get other types of connection to internet.
I wonder if this is related to the problem I was seeing recently after I reinstalled my desktop OS...
If you mean that after you dock your Axim in its cradle both your PC and your PDA lose internet connectivity, it could be the result of the Axim thinking it is the master browser on your network.
If so, try this (assumes Windows XP):
1. Right-click on My Network Places, and select Properties.
2. In the Network Connections windows that appears, click on Advanced in the menubar, then Advanced Settings.
You should now see a window called Advanced Settings with the Adapters and Bindings tab selected, and a listing of your network connections. Note the "Connections are listed in the order in which they are accessed by network services." In all likelihood your Axim's usb connection to your computer is set to the be first connection to be used for network connectivity and might confuse your PC.
3. Select the PC's internet/network connection from the list and use the green up arrow on the right to move it to the top, and move the Axim's network connection down as low as you like it.
4. Click OK, and I'd recommend rebooting.
5. Docking the Axim should now not affect your PC's internet/network connectivity now, and you should also be able to browse the internet from the docked Axim now that your PC's network connection is the dominant one.
Hope this helps!

i think this is a problem with activesync 4. The new beta version (which works pretty well) has a box on the connections page that says allow wifi connections. Make sure that is checked.
A couple of things to look at. On the Axim, go to Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality". If it is checked, it makes ActiveSync look like an Ethernet connection and can cause problems. The next thing I would think about is why are you using wifi to connect while it is on the cradle? The usb connection is a "higher quality" connection (networking 101, wired is always better than wireless) so it should just connect that way. If the wireless on the Axim is on it may think it has 2 connections to the internet and "confuse" itself. I've never had a problem with access when cradled. It has always worked "automagically" for me.
Yes, I'm with David on that one. I frequently do networking while docked, so that's why I thought maybe you were having trouble getting the axim and system to connect...if the pc can't connect when your axim is docked then your axim certainly couldn't get out either.
However, to perhaps answer your initial question (correctly, I hope) Airscanner has got a fix (don't know offhand which version of Activesynch 4.x) that addresses bluetooth or wifi being disabled while docked, and an explanation of why that isn't always a good idea. Myself, I have no real need for wifi being active while docked via usb, but maybe someone else might for programmatic/debugging reasons or if the system being docked to doesn't have network access itself (though unlikely).

Any tricks or suggestions ?
well the best way to achieve that is to install the BETA version of ActiveSync 4.5 (search for activesync 4.5 on MS site). It allow you to check "Allow Wireless connection on device when connected to desktop"
from the connection properties button (needs to be in "not connected" mode). Also there is an option for enabling Advanced Network functionnality under "connections - USB to PC" in the settings. Take care to this option, it caused me problems sometimes crashing the RAPIMGR.exe file so I had to reboot to get the PC "see" the handheld.

Hey David many thanks for your suggestion. Now it work !!! After i've unchecked "Enable advanced network functionality" the Pc has recognized the Axim again ... and a new icon as appeared in the right bottom of Axim (the icon of usb connection). Now i've got the internet connection over USB on my Axim :approve:

I've installed this Beta, but there is not this chek !!!! I'm newby with Axim but not with Pcs :) ... Strange....
I know this is an old post but I tried the same thing as christian by unchecking the advanced network function but when I hit ok it sais "Failed to disable RNDIS to use serial". I'm not at home now, does it need to be in the cradle at the time I do it?
