Question wififofum question

I've installed it and a pretty little neat program. Looking through it however I can't seem to find anywhere that shows signal strength of the locations shown. Is there such a a function in the program I am overlooking? Cool program though, would just thin with everything that went into it it might show the signal strength of the locations found.

You should have a scrollbar below the window where you can move left/right to see the RSSI (received signal strength indicator).

Doh!:) Thanks!

It's reading kind of weird to me. My own RSSI is -50 with a max of -50 and a -90 Min RSSI. Seems backwards. Kind of like Wi-fi companion though. I'm sitting about 3' from my pumped router. I would have thought it the RSSI would be much higher too.

IO still like it. The Radar screen is cool. one final question. Pretty good scanner except for the weird RSSI numbers but can you connect to a connection (wi-fi spot) using the program. that I didn't see either unless it auto connects? Now I need more coffee so ting right under my nose appear.

This version does not connect or auto connect, although it is something that the author is talking about.

DeeCee52...

I hope so as it is now it's a cool little program and gives more accurate readings than Wifi Companion for the X51v. The only drawback is you have to close wififofum and use WFCor the built in radio to connect is all.

The reversed RSSI (min and max) readings are a bit confusing. I hope the author does come out with a revised version that does connect. Thanks for the info.:)

Well after using tis a few days I have found the only drawback is not being able to use the program to connect to a w-fi system. It's SSI (signal strength indicator) is a lot more accurate than Wi-fi Companion by far. It reports in 10% increments, but at least it's a bit more accurate. I went around town and used it. It showed twice as many hot spots as Wi-Fi Companion. In fact I would have not known most were even there. The max and min SSI readings seem to be reversed and maybe a fix will come out on that or I am reading it wrong.

Until WFC (socketcom) ever comes out with their patch for WFC I' afraid wififofum is y tool of choice. Excellent tool and it's FREE to boot! Hope the developer comes out with a connectible version. I sure wouldn't mind paying for it

RSSI is meant to be reversed, it's a negative number

80 in wififofum is actually -80

The closer to 0, the stronger the signal :)
