Invalid Windows CE setup files?

Any time I try to install an application (Skype, Street Atlas) it give4s me an error that says: INVALID WINDOWS CE SETUP FILES - Application Manager can not intall this application on your mobile device dur to an invalid set up file. Reinstall and try again. I try again but get the same message. I just got this x50v used from a buddy and he doesn't know anything about them. Can someone give me a hand? Thanks, Matt

I have had similar problems with Skype and a couple of other applications. In one case the application was being offered by Microsoft but it was the creation of another company. MS had modified the install file and it no longer worked. For Skype and the others, the only solution I have found is to download the .cab file and install from there.

Hi,

I have the same problem attempting to (re-)install Skype on my X50v. How does it work, installing with the .cab file? Thnx,

Marcel

You should be able to just copy the CAB file to the PDA and then tap to run. The install should go fine from there.
