Memory dazed & confused

Just a simple question from a senile and confused person: on the X51v, what is the largest memory size cards, both in sd and cf, the unit can handle?

CF How big is your wallet? AFAIK the unit will work with the 16 gig CF cards.

I'll take the bait, but I'm getting senile, too.

4gb sd, as long as it is not SDHC. CF I know that the 8gb cf and photo-type hard drives work. I suspect that the 12gb photo drives and CF work as well. don't have the moolah to check it out first hand. My suspicion is that any cf flash card that meets the flash memory spec will be usable.

I'm sure someone here will set me straight.

Much agreed. There was a time, but it sure as anything isn't now. I am now looking at the 4GB card, as I hope eGuidance maps can fully fit there with their POIs (I found that though the map portion might fit on a 2GB SD, it was a far cry when you also chose to have the POI stuff...).

Anyway, I now see my next consideration is speed. Can anyone provide some form of relative index for application vs. speed needed so I won't go into an oldfart outrage while driving and through it out the car?

So far I find myself primarily using the AXIM as a GPS screen in the car. I suspect I might want to throw a gig or two of music onto it instead of tieing up my phone's memory (of course then I have no idea what I would use the 1gb I have on the phone for...), or maybe even find another use for the AXIM besides GPS (I invite any and all "polite" suggestions. Frisbee, skipping stone and sun-don't shine are not options...)!
