Keep them active... where? In the PPC?
If so, uninstalling them from PC won't delete the apps in the PPC... and later you can reinstall ActiveSync and the programs in the fresh PC.

Is that what you wanted?

Good luck.

Your program files will all be in the Microsoft ActiveSync folder under Program Files in Explorer on your pc. However, I'm not sure of the best way to deal with backing them up and reinstalling; it may just be a case of copying the files and pasting them back once you have formatted your drive and reinstalled ActivSync.

A better way may be to list any registration codes and download the software again (I save all of my ppc programs to a folder on my desktop): you may find that you already have the .exe or .cab files on your pc. Trial software often only requires the registration key to become a fully functional program.
