Icon3 Two specifics questions... related to network settings... I just don't get it (yet)!!

Hello!

I have a two questions I couldn't totally answer yet that I'd love if you helped me!

1) What does exactly each of the network cards in the settings relates to? I mean... is there a card that represents ActiveSync, another Bluetooth, another Wifi, etc etc? Where I can I read a list with these specifications?

2) What the heck are the "My Work", "My ISP", and such that I find everywhere? For example, they are under "Connections", but also in many more apps that I've tried I found similar names... I mean, how are these two (My Work and My ISP) different from each other if I go to each of them and set the same settings for both? How does WM 'knows' which one is what? I don't know if I'm being 100% clear but... I don't really get it!! All that "Connections" menu... i just don't know how it's supposed to work. Another thing there, what is the 'private network' (Second combobox - default 'My Work') about? When that connection is EXACTLY triggered? Because the first combo I suppose'd trigger when using PIE, MSN, etc., but the second? I've tried Resco and network mapping and nothing "connected"; it didn't trigger that connection!

Please... enlight me as I've bought the device recently and couldn't find these answers... thanks in advance.:approve:

Originally, "My Work" was for connections via a LAN (which were more common in the workplace when the term was chosen) while "My ISP" (listed as "The Internet" in some versions of Windows Mobile) was for direct connections, usually via a dialup modem adapter or cell phone, but the default settings on each seem to be the same now so it really doesn't make much difference. In most situations, both of the dropdown lists in the connection settings need to be set the same for PIE and email to both connect properly.

NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver supports some CF LAN adapters
Remote-NDIS Host is the ActiveSync USB network adapter
The various Miniport drivers translate hardware communications with different networking protocols.

The bottom line is you shouldn't need to worry about any of these adapters for most applications (I've never done anything with any of them on my X51v and the only one I used on a previous PPC was a Socket adapter with my LAN card when I was using a static IP with it).
