Aximsiteactivesyncicon sync with vista

I have the Vista Premium Home Edition, and an Axim X50 WM2003SE, it won't sync anything but media files. I want to sync my contacts and calander with Windows contacts and calander, is this possible or do I Have to have Outlook.

Also I bought Pocket Quicken, and it would not install with out active sync installed, how do I install new programs on my Axim in Vista?

Thanks for any help.

Question

I am able to sync my X51 pretty well with vista but I windows media player doesn't see the SD Card in the PDA. I can't sync media with the PDA as there isn't much space left. Has anyone found a way to sync with the SD card?

Cheers

I have the same problem. It's impossible to sync my contact with "windows contatcs" and my calendar with "windows calendar" with windows Vista home premium. I have already installed "Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center 6 " and it work well to sync my files.

If you want to sync your Contracs and Calendar, you need to install Outlook. Your Axim should have come with a copy and it's license key.

Thanks for your feed back on this, but the good versions of Microsoft Office 2007 don't come with Outlook, It would be like downgrading my mail, Is there anyway at all to sync with Windows Calender and Contacts.

You need outlook, if you have vista, you also need The latest WMDC, and to sync media the latest WMmedia player. A note there are a lot of reported problems with syncing with vista, One care also, with outlook in help there is a detect and repair function that seems to offer good results, but you need to make sure that your firewall and antivirus, and any third pafty apps that you use Spybot, SpywareBlaster etc know to let WMDC access to Sx
