How Often Do You Soft Reset?

I found an old thread about soft resetting your x51v back around the time of the A04 ROM. Now that most people seem to be on A12, how often do you soft reset your x51v?

Mine usually needs at least 1 a day and often times, 2 per day (Actually 25 times in 2 weeks by my last count). I find this pretty unacceptable though I am running WisBar, Pocket Weather, Pocket Breeze, and iLauncher on the Today Screen. Still, I don't think that running plug-ins should make you a glutton for soft resets. Anyone else?

At least once a day because by the end of the day when I get home, I usually turn it off completely and start again fresh the next day.

Since update to A12, my x51v requires soft reset each time it is turned on.
The fake server trick cannot be performed either.

3 or 4 times a day. A12 made no difference.

As you say, totally unacceptable. After all, how often do you have to re-boot a desk top or laptop?

I've had my x51v for about 1 month now, and have only had to soft reset once.

On average, about once per day for me.

that's because you haven't owned it long enough to accumulate all the junk that cause you to go low on memory. :approve:

Maybe once to twice a week. I use it quite heavily formp3 playing and book reading during the daytime... got a good amount of programs installed as well.

I could probably get away with resetting less often, most of my resets are done out of paranoia... or activesync being useless...

What is a soft reset? Pushing the button at the top? Am I not supposed to do that to turn it off?

Far less often than my PDA.

Actually, I run two daily backups and each performs a soft reset, so that is the minimum for me.

There is a Tweaks2K2 option to reset the reset counter back to zero, so that can tell you how many you have done.

Use to be every other day with windows media player, mortplayer or GSplayer. Since I switched to coreplayer, I have gone 4 weeks without one.

I am sure it all depends on how you use it. Most of the time, mine is an MP3 player and video system for my truck and is always on truck 12V power, even when the ruck is off (I have dual batteries in my truck). I use the office and exploere ocassionaly. I Guidance once or twice a month and Memory-map when I go offroad in the summer.
