Media player than can handle HTTP authentication

Hey folks.

I'm looking for a media player for my X51 that can handle HTTP authentication (username/password), similar to WinAmp or Media Player Classic for the Windows desktop.

I'm trying to play media from a private streaming file server.

So far every player I've tried either fails silently or indicates a 401 error (but doesn't ask for credentials).

Anyone have any suggestions?
