Here is how I solved Activesync proplem......
Bought a new Axim51v for my dad, couldn't get it sync with his laptop. Reinstall AS many times, repaired Outlook many times, its still couldn't work !
Finnally found "USB TO PC" in the settings of PDA, and unselected "Enable advanced network functionality" , its worked right way!
Just want to tell you guys who has the same proplem and get it a try!

I concur. I did this a couple of months ago and ActiveSync has been so much more reliable since.

Hello, yes, isn't that a nice option now. You have to have the version A12 ROM to have that option under Connections. But I also unchecked that, since my Active Snyc program kept setting off my firewall, everytime I would sync. Apparently the program acts like a server and goes out to bring down your email; I even had email unchecked as things to sync. Now it acts just like my old Palm sync, it syncs through the USB cable, no internet connection needed.
Hope your dad enjoys the gift.

Do you have an x51vA? If so, I highly recommend the upgrade, some nice new options are available. Good luck
This post made using Adimx51v online

Here's how I solved the Activesync problem. I installed Vista Business on my desktop and my Treo 700wx syncs up just fine.

I, too, second the A12 upgrade, but like purcy, I had to uncheck it to get it to work right.
