Serious battery problems!

hi guys.

For the last 2 months approximately I thought my 2 standard batteries were at the end of their life because they discharged very quick. But today, I've seen that my battery has lasted for over an hour with WiFi on! and still about 40% to go(this is way too much for what I'm used to).

With studies and all I've been using my ax only for Resco Sudoku and NoviiRemote at nights.

Do any of you know if this 2 programs are "battery leakers"? I think this is very strange!!

ps. Another weird symptom is that everytime I switch batteries, my ax asks me if I want to hard reset! T is shouldn't happen

thanks for any help provided

I know this sounds stupid, but maybe You have many programs running in background?
And how old are batteries?

Well, I'm not sure what kind of a problem you might have, but NoviiRemote is definetely not a battery 'leaker'. I use the noviiremote much more, but no problem arise at all. How old is your axim? May this all be because of its age?

I just had my two batteries replaced by Dell under my complete care program. I had them for 14 months and they ended up only charging up to about 80% no matter how long I left them in the charger. The replacements both charge up to 100% and my unit lasts longer prior to switching out to a fully charged replacement.

My axim is only a year old. And the extra battery I bought it from www.cases.com about 8 months ago!

The weird thing is that sometimes they last for about 20 minutes and sometimes as long as new!!

No programs running in the background.

Any more ideas?

And does anybody know why does it try to hard reset every time I switch batteries? It´s annoying because a soft-reset consumes around 10% of my batteries sometimes!

Are the batteries charging fully in the first place? Are you using the original Dell AC Adapter?

If the Axim gets hot or runs slowly while your batteries are discharging fast, it's almost certainly a software problem. But even if that isn't happening, it could still be a software problem. I would try a hard reset and then not load any software and see what happens. At least then you'll know whether it's just a software issue or something more serious.

Hard reset? Man I hate those but it sound like a good option. The thing is that I haven´t added any programs to my ax for about 3 months!!!

I can confirm that Resco Sudoku is a definite battery killer. It will completely discharge my battery in about an hour. I can easily get 4 to 5 hours of use out of my axim on a charge if I don't play Sudoku.

Nice to know about the sudoku!! I´ll try others instead of the resco one before I jump in and hard reset!

Too bad because I loved that program (and had some really impressive records).

Hey, does anybody know anything about my hard reset issue everytime I change the battery?

My backup battery shows a normal charge so I don´t think this is the problem.

thanks for all your help guys :approve:

I already uninstalled resco sudoku and replaced it for the astraware one! I´ll keep you informed about battery consumption.

But the hard reset issue continues... any ideas?
