My X51V driving me nuts!

i'm currently experiencing a weird problem ever since i deleted all my programs and refreshed my wm5 w/a012 rom image to bring it back to factory settings. up till then i had no issues, i just wanted to clear all the clutter. anyways, now after i charge my battery(which is a 3300mah mugen branded battery) which is now more then a year old, the charge level reaches 100% and the power button on the x51v does go green and everything looks fine. as i begin to use my axim the battery meter stays at full charge 100% reading. and this can be after running my wifi on, watching videos, playing mp3 music, running at 624mhz full power, and doing this for hours. the battery meter on the today screen or viewing it thru START > SETTINGS > SYSTEM > POWER shows a full batery charge of 100%, it seems like its stuck there. i cant seem to do anything to resolve it. i did a soft reset..to a hard reset..to pulling out the battery and installing a spare battery(2200 mah) which is close to 2 years old, and trying the fake server trick nothing wont have any effect on the battery meter reading, still stuck at 100%. the battery power on both 3300 and 2200mah batteries seem to hold a charge and will last for hours but its annoying not being able to tell how much battery life i have remaining. before restoring my unit to factory WM5 w/A012 rom image i was running wisbar advance and Iluancher which gave me no problems showing a correct battery draw.

any more experienced members can give me some hints on what this problem could be from? is this a sign the chip in both batteries that interact with WM5 software is dead and batteries are finished or something else wrong with X51V unit?
