Restore Fail help or info needed.

I managed to get my Axim X51 running sweet with all of the info from this site, ROM upgrade, Bluetooth etc. Unfortunately one bit of software started causing problems so I backed up using the Axim dedicated tool (Fool that I am). I then did a hard reset and restore. The error message comes up as "The restore file is invalid or is broken". This happens with all of my backup files except the one before the various upgrades. Is there an issue with them and the backup facility. It is probable that I will need to do a complete reinstall including the upgrades but would appreciate any info. I will probably be buying a good backup programme as well.

KC, did you backup using ActiveSync or the DELL backup utility?

the backup utility provided by wm5 does not work for me either. good thing it doesn't even back up.... so I didn't have to go through a restore program.

Best process is to do after a hard reset is to do a complete application load. Then the data connected with those applications. I back up 'My Documents' from my units main memory to my SD card first and copy it back when all of my applications have loaded. I have always had great results doing this process. I have tried using the internal back up application but have has such poor results I have stopped using it.
