X51v PIM

Hi All

Just got a new Axim X51v after being an IPAQ 3870 owner for 6 years.
I'm just finding my way around it and wondered whether the X51v stores the contact and calender info so that you dont lose it after a hard reset etc, as my IPAQ used to restore these.

Thanks

First, congrats on the new PDA.

All the Windows Mobile devices loose the data after a hard reset. Are you sure data persisted in your IPAQ after a hard reset? Because hard reset gets the device to factory state with no data. Soft resets don't delete your data.

You know, it's funny. When I went fro A06 to A12 I had to do a Hard reset. I didn't know that till it was too late. I figured no real problem, I just got this thing and there isn't much installed. So I looked in the manual to see how to do it. Push the reset button and power at the same time and hold in. I did that. After everything was done, I went to put the birthdays and vacations in the calender, but found that information had survived the hard reset. Not sure why, but it did. Maybe I did something wrong? But everything else was gone, I had to reinstall it, and reset the time zone. Oh well, it was just one less step I had to do to put everything back. :approve:

The IPAQ had a setting on it that enabled the contact details to be restored after both hard / soft reset - havent seen this on the Axim, so just wondered what happened, if you had to do a hard / soft reset or didnt charge it, to this information
