Worried Syncing Outlook nightmare

When I sync Outlook (20003) and include contacts it doubles and triples them both on the PC and mobile device!? I have to manually go in both the PC and Axim and delete all the duplicates!:realmad: any suggestions????

In Outlook, check Tools - Options - Contact Options. Is the Check for Duplicate Contacts box "checked"? If not, check it. That's how mine is set up and I do not have any problems with dups. Good luck.

Already was done. This is weird. I had to do the dreaded hard boot and reinstall all my programs and I can't figure out why it's doing it so for now I had to go manually and deleter all the duplicates on both the PC and Axim. The I notice my calender events were doubled also and had to delete those duplicates on the PC! ARGH!

Do you have MemMain from Dinarsoft? They offer a free 2 week trail version. Its a utility that has a "remove duplicates" feature in it. Check it out at http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14279

What are your settings for conflicts? If you have them set to leave item on device and desktop, this could be the cause of some of the duplicates.

If you can't find a way of avoiding duplicates (I couldn't), then ODIR (Outlook Items Duplicate Remover - from http://www.vaita.com/ODIR.asp) helps me. Seems to work OK on Outlook and then the next sych doesn't re-duplicate.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the replies. I "think" what happened was I did a hard reset and went I went to sync afterward it created a new relationship with my PC and in doing so it doubled everything on both the Axim and PC! I deleted one of the relationships and it seemed to solve the problem and all is OK now!? phew!!

Also it safer to set for your PC to overwrite the handheld on all occasions.
Check your ActiveSync Options for it...

Never happend to me again...
