Do NOT Use Microsoft's DST2007 (Daylight Savings Time) Patch
I used the following link from Microsoft to test their update: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en.<==DO NOT USE THIS LINK!! As usual, Microsoft found a way to mess up something fairly simple. If you use this file, your appointments between the new start of DST and the old start (i.e., during the last 2 weeks of March) will be one hour early...but only on the handheld. The desktop time will be fine. Somehow or other they found a way to adjust the time on the handheld but not the desktop and still consider the appointments for 2 different times as synchronized.
RELATED: I heard a similar result occurs if you apply the "patch" for Outlook. It (stupidly) adjusts the times of your appointments as part of it's fix. Don't use that one either! Just do the OS fix.

Oh great, now that I just updated my computer (Windows XP Prof) my Outlook program and my Axim. Is everyone having this problem with the patches? So you are saying the computer and Outlook will have the correct times, but not my Axim?

Depends on which updates you installed:
If you only installed the Outlook "Tool" (I think that's what they ineptly named it), the times in that 3 week period starting in March will be wrong on your desktop. If that's all you did, I would guess that both the desktop and Handheld would be "wrong."
If you only installed the DST2007 "fix" for Windows Mobile, the Desktop time would be correct, but the Axim time would be wrong - for the same 3 week period.
If you installed both, probably both the Desktop Outlook and the handheld would have the incorrect times for that 3 week period.
>>The best bet, now that you've already done the updates will be to dock your Axim, and step through every day of the last 3 weeks in March to confirm that the appointment times are all correct. Then change or re-do the appointments with the incorrect times.
REMEMBER, this is just a 3 week period of time where they'll be off between the old start of DST and the New one in March.

Reason: Fixed number of weeks for DST
I followed the directions on the microsoft website saying that you had to take the updates in a specific order - computer, Outlook then PDA device. So I updated my computer first, then downloaded and updated Outlook, then downloaded the update straight into the Axim. I just looked at my appt between March 11 and the first sunday in April (when DST used to start) and they all still have the correct times.
The sky is falling. The sky is falling. This kinda reminds me of the Y2K debacle.
Those were memories I've spent the intervening years trying to forget. So much for that plan. At least this time it's just a couple of weeks were talking about, instead of an entire year.
That's better, right? (Seems like a difference of degree, rather than type: Same old, same old from Microsoft - - just not as wide of an impact crater. )

I did the very same thing and all worked out well for me also.
