Question How to stop Axim from synchronizing its time with PC?

My X50V is always synchronize its time with my PC at the workplace whenver I connect it to the PC via Activsync. But the work PC's time is inaccurate! My problem is that I cannot do anything to the PC for it auto-syncs the time with company's server! Therefore I reckon my only option is to stop my X50V from synchronizing its time with my PC, which I do not know how.

Thanks for viewing.

Open ActiveSync on your work pc, go to Tools > Options >Settings and uncheck Synchronize Pocket PC date and time on connection. That should do it.

If you are able to install software on your work PC and it has internet access you can load Dimension4. This will allow you to sync your PC's clock with online time servers, in spite of the network server's clock settings.

Dimension4 is the only utility of this sort that I have found that can use the HTTP protocol to connect to a time server. The other time protocols are often blocked by firewalls.

On XP: Start/Control Panel/Date and Time/Internet Time. Corporate PCs might have that locked down, though.

I find it to be dumb that many public pcs have the incorrect time on them and they don't allow u to change it.

That is why I was glad to find the latest version of Dimension4 added the ability to use HTTP to sync with an internet time server. The XP Internet Time setting, I believe, uses SNTP and the ports that this protocol uses are often closed by the firewall. That is the case where I work and Dimension4 is the only way I can sync the time if I do not want to use the network server's settings, which are often several minutes off.

Yeah, the Internet Time tab is locked down! Anyway, changing the setting in the Activsync (as recommed by drowe) will do the trick. Thanks everyone!:approve:
