Just use the stylus tip to clean your inner ear. The earwax will fill in any imperfections caused the the fall, and it'll be as good as new. As an added bonus, the stylus will glide more smoothly on your AXIMs screen.
Your worried about a stylus? I have water in my axim from like 5 months ago that just won`t go away and I haven`t got around to opening it to clean it out, yet I`m still using it as normal and charging!!!
The thing that bothers me is that I feel it isn't "perfect" anymore, I'd love to know if you think the tip is strong enough or if it would have bent, marked, or something. THAT'S what makes me suffer... :S
Three solutions 1. continue with the same stylus, worry about it, and be miserable, 2. get a new stylus (get a bunch because it is likely to happen again), or 3. keep the stylus and CHANGE the coping pattern (persistent worry does not decrease the likelihood of disaster, the opposite is more likely with worry).
Decatastrophise: I would imagine that most folks have dropped their stylus and most continue using them with out disaster. Perhaps the screen saver gets a little scratched--not a disaster. What is the worst thing that could happen? You have to change a screen protector and you may need to buy a new stylus. Also not a disaster. Then breath (long air in, long air out).
Go to Ebay and get 3 2in1 Pen/Stylus for less than $8 shipped. I love mine. Buy extras and you save even more. I drop a stylus about every day. For me that would be (365/3)8=$973. Wow. But wait, it would be less because most discount on additional purchases. So lets say you save .50 on each additional shipment. That would be a savings of about $60. Now what do you think? Peace of mind for under $1000. You can't beat that. Now with Dell you are paying considerably more for an item that does considerably less. the 2in1 stylus is the better deal.
do out and get a dremel... now buy the polishing bit... now... buy some chalk...
use the polishing bit with the included polishing wax... now after you polished the tip you need to get the polishing wheel clean (wipe it off with a towel) now you need to put the spinning disk in the chalk (just get a little bit on) now... carefully and quickly touch the tip to the wheel (it should only touch for a split second) now get your towel and wipe it down untill its really clean.
I found real Dremel Tools (not the fake ones, get the real thing) for under $100 on ebay just now. Now that is a great solution! But this is urgent. Go to home Depot now! Suicide is not to be played with. Suicide is still an option but, there is no guarantee that life is going to be any better on the other side. Stylus still may drop in the spiritual since. One may argue that there is no other side. I think the jury is still out on that. Dremel tool is the way to go until we know for sure. Who knows you may also develop a new skill and hobby with your new Dremel Tool and that may help in reducing the anxiety associated with dropping stylus.
Based on your post Dell has just issued a recall on all Axim X51v's due to faulty stylus. Continued use could result in ensuing fire and cause great bodily injury or even death. Users are not touch or handle the stylus under any circumstance. Call your local authorities immediately so a bomb squad can dispose of the stylus in a safe manner! They advised if the stylus is not perfect geometrically the unit and operator could be in grave danger!
Phew!! I'm switching to a low grade grease pencil right away!
