Seriously, I too suffer from OCD, so if it is really bothering you, just buy a new one for your own peace of mind. If you are anything like me, you'll end up over analysing it until you just go ahead & get a new one anyway.

If it makes you feel better, I've been told I don't suffer from OCD, but rathet CDO because I would of course put it in alphbetical order!

I find that in a pinch the top of a Cross pen works. Don't use the pointy end. It's hard to wash the ink off the screen.

On a side note I took my TE stylus and ran it across cement which roughed up the edges and I found it was easier to hold. :rolling:

if you knew anything about OCD you wouldn't be so short sided. im not trying to be mean but honestly its a real thing and its serious. its not really controllable. Dan i think that you should buy the 2-3 pack that has a pen in it. those work great.

The jist of the 5 sec. rule "if you picked it up prior to 5 second expiration then it didn't actually happen" I should point out that this usually pertains to food items and in no way reflects the opinion of the WHO, FDA, or the International Brotherhood of physicist.

Go to your local jewelers supply and buy an inexpensive 10x loupe - usually around $5. Now inspect the tip carefully. If you can see damage that might cause a scratch or any embedded dirt, then try to clean. Otherwise replace. You'll find that the 10x loupe is indispensible for many other applications so money well spent.

LOL! Good one.

(OT - there was a show proving whether that "5 second rule" is true or not - ie you drop a potato chip on the ground and as long as you pick it up within 5 seconds, you are ok! But when that was put to the test, in fact that was totally untrue - everything - was contaminated and moreso for those things that were "wet" - ie a pickle or shrimp for example. FWIW).

As to the original question - I bot a screen protector - I sometimes want to use my fingers to press things - and they are always dirty. If you are concerned then yes look for a new stylus (and backups) and also ensure you have a screen protector. Everyone is different - don't let others convince you the world is round if you firmly believe it is flat. If you are tossing and turning over a stylus question, you are wasting your life away - just get a new one! Period.

I suffer from DOC because I'm dsylxeic as well. I have a friend who's a dyslexic agnostic so he stays up nights wondering if there really is a Dog.

In any case, the OP can buy my quasi-official, genuine ersatz Dell Stylus Template. With that and a bench grinder, he can make sure he reshapes his stylus into the exact original shape. If you order before midnight tonight, we'll include a second one absolutely free!!! Only four easy payments of $29.99 but wait! There's more! Well also include a set of Ginsu stylus replacements that will slice, dice and fillet your PDA PDQ! You owe it to yourself (and soon to US) to order one today! They make great gifts, too! Payment can be made in Rupees, Zloty, Sheckels or the equivalent in fools gold.
