Is there a patch, ROM or other piece out about the Axim or other WM5 Handhelds that addresses America's idiotic desire to alter the standard Vernal Equinox?
I am American, living in Canada, having a nightmare with my peripherals.

the MSN installation is VERY EASY!!!! if there is a problem later, they will have a patch for that too!

Reason: more research
It's not to painful.:) The first one updates the home PC you sync with. the second one has a link to "Outlook Time Zone Update Tool" and "Daylight Saving Time 2007 Update Tool for Windows Mobile". run the Outlook one first then the second one does and install on the Mobile device.
Don't forget (on the PDA) to change your home time zone and then change it back. They actually tell you to do so in the instructions,, but I missed it, so maybe others will too.
Now ... is there anyone in PST that's using Pocket Informant? Can you tell me if your new appointments default to "GMT-8 Tijuana" instead of "GMT-8 Pacific US"?

What do you mean ? change it to which one ? instal the cab file then change back. I cannot find those instructions you're talking about. I'm getting an error saying it cannot find "settimezoneinfo"

Well that was painless...although when I went in to install the update for my laptop, it said it was already there??must have been downloaded automatically from one of the gazillion updates it does automatically each week.
My mistake lies with..."check your pda to see additional instructions...and what do I do? Grab it off of my cradle!duh!
We'll see if it works on Sunday!

Yes, if you do Windows Automatic Updates, they sent the DST patch to PC's in early Feb., I checked and I had it also and the download date was something like Feb.11.
Also, after you download any programs to the Axim, it usually says to check your PDA for additional instructions; if I remember correctly for this DST patch on the Axim, after you install it using Activesync, you then need to go into Programs and find it (the icon says DST) and click it and it will install the patch on your PDA. Then you go into your clock settings and just switch the time zone to ANY time zone, click SAVE, then switch it back to your real time zone and click SAVE. You're done.
I have Vista on my home PC and Windows Mobile Device Center and WM5 on my X51. The DST instructions from Microsoft says to install Activesync 4.5. I thought with Windows Mobile Device Center one could not download or use Activesync.
Am I missing something?
Interesting, though not surprising, that it insists one must set Outlook as default email client for everything, including AS 4.5 update. I didn't change the default but it seems to have installed anyway.

hey there. if you did not do anything when it asked that question, you might not have the installation correct. your PDA screen may have been dark, but if you Tap the screen to reactivate screen saver, it was asking to save to DEVICE or CF CARD!!! choose DEVICE. after finished, PDA will reboot itself and active sync.
No probs...it rebooted automatically...it installed as just minutes before I had synced and noted that the time I selected on an appointment showed an hour off, and after the download, it showed correct.
