It's been a LONG 3 months communicating with Socketcom to resolve this, but it's finally done! Phew!:celebrate

Well, that totally screwed up my device. Installed it and removed it several times with same result. WI Fi Companion only displays as a small box, only about a quarter of the screen. Totally unusable. Thanks Socket....

LAnyone else tried this yet ????

I field tested it and it runs fine on my X51v with the A12 ROM and WM5. I've been field testing it a week and no problems here?????

I've uninstalled and installed several times with the same result. Wi Fi Companion displayed perfectly before. Now only about 20% of the program displays in a small box. Maybe a conflict with a existing program but it was fine before installing the patch

Just installed previous version without patch and all is well again. Guess I'll just have to stick with the inaccurate signal strength

Thanks Tony, just did the download and works just like you said. I found direct download by wi-fi on axim to be the easiest. GREAT JOB! Thanks for all your time and trouble. Bruce

Problem fixed .. They had a priblem with their site earlier and when you clicked to download you got

WIFI.CE500.ARMV4I.CAB

Now its downloading

WIFI.WM5.ARMV4I.CAB

This one works fine .

As I said on the other thread, thanks for your work!

I have installed, and it seems to be working well here at my work location. I see additional networks listed and the signal strength matches better with what my notebook computer is indicating.

And best of all, their website indicates I am an "Advanced User" because I installed a CAB file - woo hoo

Anyone have an active link for this patch? Went to the link and it now says:
"This software only supports Socket products, including the SoMo 650 and Go Wi-Fi! WLAN cards. Support for non-Socket products has been discontinued." No link any more to the patch. The file was named WIFI.WM5.ARMV4I.CAB. If anyone has a copy, I would greatly appreciate it.
