Verizon phones that work via BT DUN

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone know which of the Verizon Wireless phones support Bluetooth DUN? I am looking for an EVDO capable phone that I will be able to use with my x51v. I have the unlimited data option and the tethering option. Which Verizon phones have you all got working with the Axim? Thanks.

- DTG

P.S. I know that there are other carriers that don't cripple Bluetooth, but for coverage reasons I need to stay with Verizon.

Results I have compiled so far of EVDO Verizon phones that do support Bluetooth DUN...

1. Motorola E815
2. LG vx9800 (The V)

Almost all Verizon BT enabled phones support DUN. However Verizon is pretty picky about how you tether to their network.

For the e815 you may need to dial in ##DIALUP into the keypad to enable to profile. If you want to tether over an EVDO connection then you'll need to do some hacking with QPST. Go to www.howardforums.com for more information.

I've never owned an LG before so I can't say. But check www.howardforums.com for information on that device as well.

So you need to change a setting on the e815 via QPST to use EVDO tethering? Is this a one time change? Does this still work after various firmware updates?

Motorola Q works as EVDO modem for Axim x51v

Just wanted to mention that using, PdaNet from June Fabrics PDA Technology Group (http://www.junefabrics.com), I was able to tether my Motorola Q (latest AKU-2 update) to my Dell Axim x51v. I used their latest release which introduced support for the Motorola Q.

I installed PdaNet on my Q and went through the normal bluetooth pairing process and the DUN was available when previously it was not.
