x51v BT DUN auto-start???

Hello,

Let me outline the problem i have:

X51v, widcomm BT stack. .... I have a program i want to pretty much punch 1 button and have the program open, as well as the BT DUN auto start.

I found this is possible if you change these to such:

Start>Settings>connections>connections>advanced>select networks>bluetooth internet settings for both.

Now i am able to click on CERTAIN applications that auto launch the internet and have my BT DUN auto start up with that application........great.........

But not quite what i am looking for.

I would like to have it use my regular internet most of the time, and the Bluetooth whenever i feel like it.

Like is there any way to make a shortcut for the BT DUN? So all you have to do is click once and be connecting?

Or is there anyway to force a program to automatically connect to the internet?

The problem is the one app i want to connect with doesnt automatically, so i'd have to go through the whole tap BT icon, BT manager, long tap connect, connect to VZW, ok......and quite frankly i've seen that its possible to do what i want, so i'd imagine others would have exploited that already?

GPRS Monitor has a today plug in that has a shorcut to connect to your BT DUN connection by just pressing it.

Thats pretty cool, i did the tomtom 90 degree turn, and it works as promissed. I imagine i'll need a little more expertise to do what i need to do, but i guess i need to learn it!

Completely off topic, but if i make a shortcut to a script in ilauncher, do you happen to know how to change the icon? it keeps telling me i have no valid images?

actually, it wasnt nearly as hard as i had assumed.

But i cant keep the connection alive......i dont know if the program cancels it out or something upon start up?

is it even remotely possible to reverse engineer an exe file and add to it and re-compile it?

I used to be a computer science major, but i dont remember anything :-)

ok, well i figured it out.......

..........in the event that other users come here stumped........

all i did was use the RunWait function of mortscript. This way, it waits till the program is done, then closes the connection.

If you just use Run, it will do things sequentially i.e. start the connection, close the connection, run the program......

very happy with the end result! Now i dont have to take my eyes off the road to turn on the TV LOL
