DST Problems (again)
Only today did I try to update my x50 with the DST patch. My appointments on the x50 are still an hour earlier than on my computer.
How can I tell if the patch installed? If my x50 was on in the cradle, was the install automatic? No dialog boxes appeared, and nothing wound up on my desktop to expand and install via a sync.
When I saw the times weren't changing, I did a soft reset, but that didn't help.
My work computer with which I sync my x 50 has been totally messed up with the new system, and I've had to manually change many appointments. The "adjust for DLST" box is checked inside Outlook.
Really sorry if this question is redundant. I have read the other related threads, and still can't get to a resolution.
TIA for any help.

It should be listed under Remove Programs on the Axim, and under Add/Remove Programs in Activesync on the PC.
Did you remember to change the time zone on the Axim to something else, click OK, then change time zone back to your time zone? That is the last thing that has to be done.

I had the same issue and had to manually set the hour forward. But then an hour or so later it went back an hour. Some help would be appreciated.

PawPals: The DST patch is not listed under "Remove Programs" on the Axim, so, clearly, I did something wrong. I followed the instructions to upgrade to Sync 4.5, then I clicked the link to download the patch with the Axim in the cradle. I tried moving the downloaded file to Explore on the Sync screen, but that got me nowhere. My cradle-attached computer is at work, so I can't tinker any more tonight. I appreciate your input.
ccchiang12: Thanks for the offer to help, but I am not smart enough to comprehend what you have told me to check. My system admin. did the patch to xp and outlook, and I think I did the download of the mobile patch to my pc (I see folders with the proper label). I think my problem starts with getting the patch to the Axim (see above). I have upgraded to Sync 4.5 on my pc.

Be sure to follow the directions exactly and in order. One file you execute on your PC and it installs to the connected Axim (it is an .msi file). You do not have to move it to the Axim.
There is another file (a cab) that you put anywhere in your Axim (I use Personal folder) and open to install directly on the Axim. See link below for cab file.

Also, I did not upgrade to Activesyne 4.5 - used 4.2. Elsewhere in this forum is a thread with another cab file that worked better for some people.
The Outlook Tool finished with an error on installation for me (because I don't use it for email) but still did what it was supposed to.
Good Luck

It's been three weeks already since I did my updates, but I seem to remember that after I synced the Axim and got the .cab file for the update, it appeared in Programs. So I clicked it and it installed itself, asking where to install (I chose device) just like any other .cab file. After it was installed then I went into the clock settings and did the switch to another time zone, saved and then switched back to my time zone , the clicked save. You need to run the patch as any other program you install on the Axim; find the .cab file on your Axim and click it, or check in Programs like I did, it may be there. If not, re-download it again and try it all over.
Good luck

My problem is solved! I didn't see Purcy's suggestion until I had the situation under control, but (s)he was pretty much on target with what worked for me.
Specifically:
1. I did the Outlook update on my pc, just in case my System Admin hadn't. It seemed to install, so perhaps this is one reason my previous attempts had failed.
2. I downloaded the .cab update, opened Sycn on my pc, and put the .cab in my Personal folder under Explore.
3. I synced my Axim (for at least the 6th time since this trial began).
At this point, nothing had changed on my Axim. PawPals said the update should be under Settings > Remove Programs, and it wasn't. So, frustrated, I poked around, and I found the update under Programs > File Explorer. That is where the little bugger was hiding.
4. I highlighted the update, and clicked open, which caused the update to disappear from File Explorer, and reappear under Remove Programs. Previously, I didn't know about this step for installing .cab files.
5. I changed time zones away from my zone, then changed back to my zone.
The time is correct!
Thanks to all for the motivation to persevere. Everyone who responded contributed something to the solution.
Mike

Yes, you have to open the cab file. Glad it all worked for you.
