Shut down Axim X51v
Does anyone know the filename that is used to shutdown the Axim when the user holds down the power button? I've looked in the Windows folder but didnt see a file called ShutDown.exe or anything close to that.
Thanks!
David

Please don't double post, you will get a better response that way.
I don't know the answer but I'm sure one will be forthcoming soon.

Having done a search and looked at full power off, I'm wondering why you want to do it.
Are you concerned about battery life or is it something else?

Problem being is that when i run my program i made and the user just pushes the power button to turn off the screen it doesnt "hard reset" the PDA and therefore my program doeesnt run again because its already running in the background. I want my program to start freash everytime the user turns on the PDA.
After the user does everything needed in the program i would [with code] shut down the pda for them so that when they turn it on next it would be ready.

I don't think you want a hard reset, that will wipe everything, including your program, all you need is a Soft reset. that is a lot easier. I'll have a look and tell you what it is called.

i need it to do a full power off. I WANT it to clear the memory and any programs running in the background because the program will start up again once the pda comes back on.

That's what a soft reset does.
Soft reset is the same as rebooting a pc.
Hard reset is the same as reinstalling the operating system.
Full power off via the hardware button is a soft reset without the restart.

Well then theres another problem. I am unable to find the Windows/BTSoftReset.
PS> Wouldnt doing a soft reset turn the PDA back on right after it shuts off?

Heres another idea. Go to memory and delete all running programs and then shut the machine off.

Trying to make this user frendly as possible mostlylisten. The users of the PDA dont know much about computers or PDA's for that matter so the less they have to do the better.
