Aximsitewifiicon Cannot accessing a VPN?

I had an IT tech hook me up with some settings at work, BUT I think I goofed up the settings or something...anyway, the original settings are there, I just can't seem to connect to the VPN. It is listed in the network card when I activate Odyssey, but it just says 'Hidden' ….however, I can’t connect…
…I know that I must be missing something simple here…
OK
For the settings, first: under Connections he added a new network called ‘gs’
With that network selected, there is a VPN under edit vpns..it is labeled the name of the vpn : ‘gsmcvpn’ …
When I edit the vpn, first it shows host as ‘gsmcvpn’ &IPSec/l2tp selected
Next, ‘a pre shared key’ is selected…with the password saved..
Next, user name ‘gsmcvpn’, password-same as above, & no domain
Under advanced here server assigned is selected & use compression & header
Compression selected.
Now back to ‘gs’ settings, Proxy settings: this network connects to the internet is checked..
ALSO
In the Odyssey Client, He would select – Connect to & enable Odyssey
…within the , configure, First Infrastructure is selected,
on Next, association mode says: open
encryption : WEP
Authenticate & privacy are both checked..
Next, Eap methods listed are EAP-LEAP , & EAP-PEAP…..certificate not checked
Next, EAP-GenericTokenCard is added
Next, “my password” is checked
Next, username: gsmcvpn, under password: permit is checked & password is saved , & unmask is unchecked
Whew….
SO, at work, I select ‘gs’ under networks & enable Odyssey…& nothing!

Can anyone help me with settings on this! I am trying to access that gsmcvpn !
Thanks!!

Generally a wireless connection and a VPN connection are two different issues. For example I connect to various wireless networks with different protocols using either the Dell client or Odyssey as needed, but then have to make a separate connection through software to a VPN firewall gateway. Therefore I think you need to separate how to connect the the wireless network and then figure out what you need to do to connect to the IPSec tunnel.
