Lost sound output

Just happened the other day. No sound comes out of the built in speaker on my x50v. Still get sound through earphones or if I connect through BT and use BT headphones or headset.

Could one of the contacts inside the headphone jack be bent/shorted causing it to not feed a sound signal to the speaker?

Done a few soft resets but nothing. Any ideas short of taking the axim apart?

This sounds like a hardware prob. You need to wiggle the headphone around in there or something, and see if you can get the little metal in the jack to go back.

Right now, a piece of metal or something is stuck in place, and the axim thinks u have headphones in all the time.

Actually the headphone jack works like this:

-the circuit is normaly closed = sound to speaker
-when inserting headphone a switch opens = NO sound to speaker

It is possible to open your Axim and adjust the contact of the jack, as I had to do with mine.

BTW this is my first post. I hope it helps someone

Mine had stopped working altogether, with alot of static noise and feedback (after almost 3 years of use). Sent in to PocketPC Techs and they replaced the jack.
