First of all...who the heck wants to look at a tiny screen (Treo) and the fact that WiFi Hotspots are everywhere and what you can do on the X51v you can closely do what a laptop can also do....here in Orlando Florida wifi is every where. I DO see a market for stand alone PPC!!!

Preach it! Not adding Wifi is just another way for the carrier to get some of your money. If you want online you have to purchase a data plan.

I guess it's time to invest in companies that repair Axims...

Just ordered my 3rd 51v this week on 4/2. The site is showing it's still in production with a possible delivery date of 5/8. Wonder if I'll get it or not??

Oh yeah, you'll get it. If they took the order then they'll fill it. One thing I have NOT heard about Dell is failing to fulfill an order. Chill ...

I'm personally glad it's finally over! That means I have the best PDA in the market (without WM6 but still the best) from Dell.

This is one area I don't ever have to upgrade! (and save $$$ - and stop my Dell Prefer Account Charging habits)

Until my Asus UMPC can boot up in less than a second, my X51v will be my GPS device, mobile office, MP3 player, PSX gaming machine, organizer, ebook reader, dictionary, encyclopedia, etc.....(access internet any where I go too!)

Thank you Dell!

Zackly. Right now it's EDT, though - for Eastern DAYLIGHT Time.

Hmm I seem to have the luck of buying products that tend to go out of creation. First the Tapwave Zodiac now the x51v! At least I'll be given proper support this time

Aximsitex5icon I waited too long

I bought the X5 when it was introduced and use it everyday and every where. I hope it outlasts me (just turned 56). I was looking at getting a new X51v, but hesitated and missed out. Too bad they do not have the listing for the refurbished units, because they used to list hundreds of them. What is going to happen to them? End of an era. The iPac's are just not as good and twice the price. Why was there no warning of the impending end of sales?

I believe there are a couple of sites that still sell new, with warranty, X51v. Eagle something, etc. Someone will probably post with a few links for you, if you still want one.

Boy, you surely are pessimistic about your life expectancy... hope it doesn't outlast you - no way it would still be running 25-30 years from now.

I've just bought (hopefully, eBay blah blah) another X51V. What a brilliant PDA - sorry it's going - I've been delighted with mine and I need a spare!

1. Apart from being (possibly?) the most powerful PDA in the world (or perhaps the Less Fashionable End of the Milky Way Galaxy) it has non-volatile SDRAM memory so if the battery goes completely flat I don't have to reload things. Do any smartphones have this?

2. I notice the prices are creeping up for eBay Axims (in the UK at least). This may or may not be a temporary thing, but if you're in the market then now may be a good time to buy (I'm not flying a kite here - I'm buying, not selling, on eBay!)

Cheers, Kronalias of the Beebotron

Tell me about it. I was really looking forward to a WM6 upgrade.
