Question about converting FLV files for X51v

I've already started creating a list of software that I hope to install on my X51v when I buy it and besides mainly using it as a revision device for my CCNA course, I also plan on using it as a movie player; in particular playing some of my favorite Anime music videos and clips from YouTube which I know are originally in FLV format.

I was wondering if PocketDivxEncoder would convert the FLV files into a format suitable for the X51v or would I have to use another program like SUPER to convert the files?

Hello, congratulations on your new Axim soon to come, hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. I also shrink videos for my Axim using Pocket DivX Encoder, but as far as I know it will only encode a .vid file. There are apps out there I am sure that cross transfer and would handle a .flv file. I'm going to check it out too, as there are several music videos on youtube I want to put on my Axim. I'll let you know if I find anything.

By the way, my rec for the media player for videos on the Axim is TCPMP:

Oh, I also wanted to ask, do you have a program that captures flash video from the net?? You need that first to download the flash to your hard drive. If you have a program, which do you use?? Thanks

Thanks for the offer of help...:approve:

I use certain online sites to download the FLV files and they can be found by trying "FLV"+"YouTube" in Google or another search engine.

I usually use SUPER to convert my FLV files into Divx format to burn onto DVD and the picture quality isn't too bad but I'm not too sure if it works converting them into a size suitable for a PDA or a PMP...
