I was trying to do the same via BT with and an application to write SMS messages on the AX and send it to a Motorola phone via BT. I found out via the author.

Maybe you should grow up yourself Mitch. Look at the original post. He was calling the device a POS that he was going to sell on eBay. Rather than posting with more details asking for legitimate help he blasts onto the board and basically says "this damn thing doesn't work - is a POS and I'm going to sell it on eBay". Just exactly what kind of serious reply would anyone expect from a 3-line strafing run like that?

Maybe you should keep such comments to yourself until YOU have been around here a little longer and understand the character of this group. You are certainly welcome here but have not been here long enough to dish out correction - it makes you look arrogant. I've been around this board 2 years and from what I've seen of the people here, had the original poster placed a serious (not shotgun) type of request he would have had more information come his way than he could even use.

Doh! So your experience has been that while you can pair a moto to an axim, you've experienced significant problems? Just for kicks I was trying to see if I could coax my V3m to dial out from my axim BT connection and only see a dialup networking option, but then I haven't yet delved much further.

(Sorry jturner80, don't mean to hijack your thread...)

Breley that is the same problem I am having. When I connect either my V3M or the LG VX8600 I see only a dial up network and a serial port as options. Dell told me it was because of my phones and the respective phone companies told me its because of my PDA. (One of you guys should open a shop to fix this kind of problem I would so pay to have this thing work right.) Anyway I am not having much luck finding the "Widdcom BT stack" or info on how exactly I should install it but at least I have something new to drive me crazy

I can see my DED v3x from where I'm typing, I spent sooooo much time trying to just use it for BT DUN I am much older now, the BT when on is life threatening. No whatever moto is using for BT does not compliment the AX at the moment.

Here's a little tip, if you can pair with phone, the only services you can use from phone are what ax offers you. If it says use device for dial up networking it will try, for every device you pair ax will show you what it will do for you. If it doesn't offer it it probably won't support it. It also depends on your phone provider and what services you are subscribed to, and actually what they offer.

Okay Pedah if I understand you correctly because both of my phones pair with the Axim but dont seem to be able to be dialed by the Axim then it is not possible for that to happen.

Basically the problem you have is the native BT, it doesn't support the dial via BT function.
If you need it then install the widcomm stack.
Or you can use third party dialing software.

Thanx Box, I went the long way round, unless the DUN settings are not correct?

JT,

did you try to dial via IR ?
I have exactly the same problems with my AX, dialing via BT to my NOKIA 6021 !
If I really need to, I dial via IR, what works great for me.

To all others, having fun with JTs problem :

don't joke, provide help and support. Maybe, once a day, you'll be in the same situation - please don't expect help.
You should change the forum and the site if you are keen on having fun !

CHEERS to all !

If you want an answer to a question Then Post a Question not a statement that you hate your axim.

As several people here have already pointed out, including the original poster, he didn't do that.

People have responded and provided help and support even though he didn't ask for any help to begin with.

This website is about help and support but it is also a community of human beings, and as such, humour is a natural reaction. If this site wasn't about Fun then there would be very few people here to answer any questions.

Enjoy, have fun and learn along the way. :approve:
