I Hate My X51v

I am at a loss to think that I bought a PDA that will not sync with my cellphone (i.e make a call from my outlook contacts) Dell says this is not possible with the AXIM x51V. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!! Who really wants to use a PDA just for games and mobil web? I think I will sell this POS of a PDA on EBAY!!:realmad:

if you already knew that it couldnt do the function that you wanted it to do then why did you buy it in the first place? Or if you didnt know then why did you buy it before you ask some one about the function your talking about? that doesnt make sense

I agree and I use my X51v for a whole LOT more than just games and web surfing. It's been one of the most valuable tools I've had!? A little research before buying a product helps too!

I don't quite understand...

are you trying to call from your pda? Or are you trying to have the pda connected to your cell phone to make calls pointing to the contact number?

If it's the latter. I can tell you i had the same problem using my x51v and Moto Razar via bluetooth.

I opted for a phone that worked, i found that sony ericsson brands works well. So i got a SE w810i and w/ the pda using a BT dialer program you can download, search the forums for the link. I hooked up my pda and my phone. Now i can click on a contact on my pda, have it call ... via my phone and the number dials on my cell...

Hope i was able to assit here... but trust me dell axim x51v is the best pda out there... no comparison...

i mean no one else has come up w/ a similar pda at it's price...

So don't get mad.. just find ways to improve it. I did and i'm happy.. thanks to this site...

Thanks for the GOOD replies

When I purchased my PDA I did so at a DELL retail center they assured me that I could sync contacts with a BT phone. I have tried with the Razr v3m and the LG vg8600 both with no luck. I took both phones and my PDA to the retail center where I purchased it and they told me that it would not work. I am not sure what some of the idiots are talking about, "making pancakes" with a PDA is a far cry from trying to sync it to BT phone to make calls. I understand that the Axim is not a phone, but at the same time I don't think it is an unreasonable expectation to have it dial my BT phone for me. Thanks kparikh82276 for your help I did try three different BT dialers none of them worked. I will say I was more than a little frustrated at Dell today, I do love my PDA I just think that Dell makes it way to hard to use with your BT phone. Anyway to those of you who tried to help, thank you. To the rest go take your head out of your butt and try to understand the Axim is a GOOD product with some GREAT short comings.

I'd recommend trying the Widdcom BT stack. I can dial using a Razr V3 and Pocket Informant...

Motorla + axim = DUD, try another phone, motorola is notorious for it's problematic connection to AX.

Mitch don't take it seriously, I honestly went from a moto V3x to a nokia, I am not making fun. I had my rzr for a year and had only connected to internet via BT, Twice since I got my Ax, moto and ax compatibility are a rewknowned no no, reported continously, there is a known often reported issue and I went through my service provider [labouriously] and also contacted moto repeatedly. Do not paint us all with the same brush. In the end my moto after firmware update started doing really strange things, I called my provider and complained and they gave me for nothing a Nokia, paired and configured it does all the things it's supposed to. Motorola's tech doesn't work well with AX

They were just poking fun at his frustration, not him. I haven't tried connecting my Ax w/ my phone to call my contacts because I don't have to. I have a nokia and used their software to sync w/ Outlook and Outlook syncs w/ the Ax. Not quite the solution for the OP, but it worked for me.

There are other solutions. Everything in the world isn't an i#### (thankfully) that will only work with another i####.
