Calendar reminders

I have given up trying to disable the calendar reminders from turning on my PDA so I hope that someone here can help.

For the calendar on my work pc I have the reminders set to let me know of upcoming appointments. This is synced to my PDA so when its sitting on my desk it turns on all by itself showing the reminder killing battery power. I want to stop the PDA from turning on but leave the works PC the way it is.

I though unchecking the boxes at:

Start, Settings, Personal, Sounds & Notifications under Notifications tab, under event,
Reminders

prevent it from turning on but it still does.

Any ideas?

I can't help you there, but i am having a similar problem. I dont mind mine turning on, ive got it set to turn off after 5 mins inactivity, but when a reminder turns the device on and it turns itself off it will never turn back on! i always have to do a soft reset after that.

any ideas?

Ive had problems with the device needing the reset button pressed when I had too many fancy screen editors installed. I had a vista theme running as well as quite a few other apps. Programs were crashing all the time. I did a fresh install and only put on the apps I needed. Since then it only needs a soft reset every two weeks or so.

By default, the calendar is copied exactly the way you enter it on the PC. I don't know if there is a way to set it differently. Yeah, it's kind of annoying. I also sync my Ax with my hope PC and when I turn it on I may get a notification for a meeting I had yesterday.

I think you might be able to disable Event Reminders with a program like memaid or sktools. I know sktools has a feature that lets you edit the list of alarm notifications on the device. Don't know if Outlook would put them right back on though. I'm similiarly afflicted but less motivated to deal with it right now. Mine comes on in my bookbag a lot with the sound off so i never hear the reminder and it does invariably cause a good drain on my battery. It does sometimes even refuse to come on again without a soft reset.

And, sadly, regular soft resets are the price we pay for robust, multifunctional today screens. I soft reset roughly twice a day but I don't think that I could part with my setup. Good luck getting the alarm issue straightened out.
