Question regarding x51v ROM

Today I bought a DELL AXIM X51v

my ROM version is A12(06200600)

Do I need to upgrade to a newer version (if there is any) or I can proceed
with installing programs

I also want to buy a 4 GB CF card (Trascend) , I wanted to be sure
If the device can support this size

I've got the A12 version and a 2GB Transcend CF card and a 4GB Transcend SD card, both working happily together. I would have got the 4GB card, but newegg.com had a sweet deal on the 2GB CF card, which I only use for program storage, as I much prefer the ease of swapping out the SD card. Some Aximsite users have I think been able to use higher capacity (8GB+?) CF/SD cards in their units.
