Icon14 iPhone Like Lock Slider

Hello everyone. This has been thrown around in the "Post Your Today Screen" thread but I thought it was neat enough to deserve its own thread and I couldn't find anything about this with a search.

Slider 1.031 is a free stand alone program that gives your WM5 an iPhone like slider to lock and unlock your device :approve: . It looks like much work has gone into successive versions on the xda-developers forums. This was originally released as RE's Unlocker and Launcher, published on a Polish web site, and has been edited since becuase the source code is available. The most current and functional incarnation is here at xda-developers.

I've attached a screen shot below. I've mapped it to the record button. You can use any wallpaper you want and format the appearance of the time and date to suit your needs. Unfortunately, it is only in QVGA but it doesn't look too bad on my x51v. It is written in PPL programing language so you can change it if you understand that language. Finally, I have to give a shout out to Aneto who pointed me in the right direction on this. Just wanted to give everyone who might be interested like myself a heads up  .

I believe there is a VGA upgrade on rapidshare the link is in the Post Your Today Screen Thread. I can get the QVGA to work, but am struggeling with the VGA update. Just make sure you guys steer clear of an iSuit! lol I love it!

Hi kevin1a...The rapid share file is still in QVGA. The whole program is actually. After posting to the thread on the xda-developers forum, the reply I recieved was that this is by far QVGA only. Consequently, I find you get a runtime error if the device goes into suspend and then wakes. Otherwise, it functions on VGA fine (just not perfectly). Perhaps someone who has programming experience can adapt it to VGA.

Hey thanks for that, sargetalon! I presume this is the solution for your other posting about mapping the keys?

hey breley...i've come to the conclusion that i can't map the password lock to a hardware button...At least nothing that i've figured out. Thought this was a cool enough alternative for aesthetics though. Always on the lookout for a better solution.

I also agree that the iPhone is nothing to get very excited for. I have yet to jump on the iTunes or iPod bandwagon and I have something like 1800+ albums. I just like the idea of the graphical lock slider over the one built into WM5.

Its not the iPhone ilts the iServices... in the same way as its iTunes that makes the real money.

Still, I'm going to have a play with this one on my V2

I downloaded and tried it out.

I downloaded the whole iPhone thing not just the slider and when I hit the time with the iPhone display and it's suposed to go to the locker, it only works half the time.

Also, I need to edit the .ini file to set it up properly, how can I do this?

Hi sdge. You can edit the .ini with notepad. It's very simple. Just open it, edit it, and save it on your pc and then transfer it to your pda and you're good to go. Here is the text to get the configuration to look like mine. More info on this is in the readme i belive. Good luck.

[Slide Config]
Date Format=dddd',' MMM dd yyyy
Time Format=hh':'mm':'ss tt
No Animation=0
Close App=1

Not to sound too noobish, but how do I map the slider to a hardware button? I know how to map the buttons in general (settings - personal - buttons) but there is no way to choose the slider program. What am I not seeing?

You need to create a shortcut, add it to the start menu. then you can map the shortcut as above.

Version 1.06 of this app has just been released and features a lot of enhancements. It seems a new version is coming out every day. This is by far the best yet and works very well on my x51v. You can find the new version here.
